The ship was almost there. It has been a long trip, but Liam was happy enough to even get this opportunity, all thanks to moonlighting an odd job at the docks in Hulbury some time ago. His boss owed Liam a favour, and this favour ended up being a water taxi for a trip to Avant.

"Thanks again, captain!" The trainer yelled against the noise of the ship's old steam engine as he stepped from the rusty vessel onto the docks of Jadeton.

"Aye, not a problem matey. Least I can do fer ya after all the work ye've done fer me!"

Liam and his Toxtricity waved him goodbye with a smile as the old Galarian seaman departed on his way back before they entered the town.


"Look at these fancy roofs. Real quaint, innit Roxy?" He pointed at the jade coloured, eastern-styled roofs typical for Jadeton.

"Trici," the Pokémon replied gleefully.

Liam let out a sigh of relief. Truth be told, he wanted to distract his shy Pokémon from the masses of trainers surrounding them, but she seemed calm. Unfortunately, that came to an end very quickly as the two entered the packed Registration Office for the obligatory presentation. They were a bit late, so almost all seats were taken already. They'd have to squeeze themselves through the full rows to get a seat.

"Tooox…" Roxanne looked at her trainer with an visibly uncomfortable, pleading expression on her face.

"Eh, don't you worry about it. Let's just relax here in the back, all right?" He patted the Toxtricity on her head (carefully so to avoid touching the electric mohawk on it) before she plopped down right where she was standing. Liam took a squat right next to her, propping up his elbow on his knee while cupping his chin with his palm. During the orientation, he just kind of nodded (as much as you can nod in such a position) and scratched his scruffy chin every now and then.

Fast forward through the registration progress, he was just in time to complete it before screams of terror reached the building.

"T-tox??"

"The fuck?" The pair looked at each other, expressing varying degrees of worry. "Seems like someone threw a bloody spanner in the works. Let's have a gander!"

Liam ran outside and realized quickly what was happening. He was familiar with Morgrem after all, although he's never seen them go bonkers like that. And… was that a Gigantamax Grimmsnarl?

Liam raised an eyebrow, he was used to… bigger versions of those things, having faced a few of them in his native region before. So while other trainers ran in terror at the sight of the tall, hairy gremlin monster, the Galarian trainer was rather unimpressed by this comparably stunted version. Although those red eyes and menacing crimson aura didn't seem quite right either...

People were screaming and running like headless Torchics, some were trying to hide, others were just completely in shock and seemed to face some sort of meltdown like that poor classy-looking kid over there. Only a few were actually trying to defend themselves.

"Whoa mate, these bastards are going nuts! Are you seeing this shit Roxanne? Do you think this is the Berserk Pokémon stuff he was talking..." He looked to his left, and to his right, and to his left again, but the Pokémon was nowhere to be seen. "...about? Uh, Roxanne?"

Only as he completely turned his upper body around, he could see the Toxtricity's little side horn poke out of the door frame she was hiding behind. Seems like the kid with the pink hair wasn't the only one who was getting the collywobbles. Liam took a deep breath and approached his cowering partner calmly - well, as calmly as the current situation allowed it.

"Hey, c'mon Roxy… We've kicked countless of gobby Morgrem arses before. We've even taken down a few of those humongous Grimmsnarl wankers together with some mates, remember?" The Pokémon slowly poked her head out of the door frame.

"Tox…"

"You're a Poison type, we might be one of the few people who can get these arsehole gremlins to bugger right off and help these lads, all right?"

Roxanne looked at her trainer for a few moments before nodding hesitantly.

"Let's go!"


Liam tried to ignore all the shouting going on around him and focused on assisting helpless trainers who were being pestered by the overly aggressive, long-nosed Pokémon. A whole group of them was surrounding a young, mortified trainer. She must've been no older than 11 and was sobbing audibly out as three pairs of red, malicious eyes fixated on the poor lass.

"Roxanne, use your Sludge Bomb on the bastard in the middle!"

Promptly, a big glob of foul, dark-purple slime was spat from the Toxtricity's lizard-like mouth and hurled right at the back of the head of the Morgrem she targeted. The creature faceplanted from the impact of the unexpected, super-effective attack - but got up rather quickly. Certainly quicker than Liam expected.

"Aw, bollocks," he whispered to himself. The other two had also shifted their attention to Roxanne and him - which might have been the plan, but retrospectively maybe not the best idea if they were all that resistant even to super-effective attacks. Aaanyway, first things first, the lass had to get away first!

"Oy, wee lass! Yea you! Go leg it!" Teary eyes stared at him in confusion. Seemed like his wording wasn't clear enough to her for some reason... "Just- run!!" That one she understood just fine. Weird!

While the young trainer got away easily, Liam and his companion got three of the mad gremlins closing in on them. "T-toxtri?" Roxanne queried nervously. "Well- Uhm, er, I-"

Liam's hazel eyes darted around. A lot of things were going on around them. Pink hair kid was still freaking out despite several people (and a… clown…? Pokémon..??) attempting to calm him down, some loudly dressed bloke at the Café had been kicked in the stomach after falling arse over tit, and of course all while the - weirdly short - Gigantamax Grimmsnarl was still wreaking havoc. But it was another red glowing aura that caught his attention.

"Get your Pokemon to round up the Morgrem in front of my Poliwhirl! I think I can buy us some time, but I'm gonna need some help."


"Oy! You hear that, Roxy? Just do as the short-haired lass says, round the three tossers up in front of her, and when they're all grouped up, maybe try to get a Boomburst up in there!"

"T-triii?"

"C'mon, I know you can do it," Liam encouraged the scared Pokémon with an energetic clap on her shoulder. "Now get your wee legs moving and help these blokes kick the arses of these nasty cunts!"

"T-trici!" And off she went. Hmm, maybe it's the strong language that gives her courage…

Before getting into some sort of crossfire with whatever the lady with the red aura attempted to do, Liam instead decided to help the gaudy looking chap who was currently getting beaten the crap out of him by one of the rampaging goblins.

Well, seemed like there was only one thing he could do on his own... "Ey you, you long-haired, hook-nosed, knob-headed pink plonker!"

The moment the unusually ill-mannered Morgrem turned around to leer at the trainer with its crimson eyes, the steel-capped tip of a tightly laced, sturdy leather boot sent it flying across the patio. The other Morgrem watched his fellow gremlin getting kicked through the air in awe - a terrible idea, because the exact same fate hit him shortly after.

Liam looked at the stranger he just, hopefully, saved.

"I uh, usually don't treat Pokémon like that, swear."

He offered him a hand to help him get up.

Grimmsnarl

They had come with the intent to raze this town to the ground. They were here to annihilate human and Pokemon alike. They had been doing a pretty good job of that too. His minions had been terrorizing resident humans and Pokemon alike, while he himself focused on the destruction of these buildings. Why were they doing all this? He couldn't say. All that he knew was that he had feels of wrath and destruction. Grimmsnarl wanted nothing more than to see this entire town razed and every villager and Pokemon deceased. Nothing had specifically triggered these feelings, he was just engulfed by them. And the only way to satiate these feelings was was to continue his wanton destruction.

And that he did! He continued tearing the building apart, watching as villagers and Pokemon fled alike. He did not bother to target them specifically, his Morgrem minions would handle that. All he needed to do was destroy their hiding spots so that his Morgrem could massacre the lot of them. Curiously though, as he continued to rip apart the building he noticed a lack of Morgrem attacking the fleeing villagers and Pokemon. Where had they gone? Were they slacking on the job? How dare they not follow his orders. Grimmsnarl halted his destructive rampage to look around to find his Morgrem minions. They were no longer scattered, attacking fleeing humans and Pokemon, rather they seemed to be congregating.

Why were the congregating? A further gleam showed a collection of human and Pokemon that were actively fighting against the Morgrem. There were humans and Pokemon alike that were resisting them? How. dare. they. How dare they! How dare they impede his desires of destruction! How dare they try to fight against him! If he could not do as he wanted, where was he to contain these feelings!? Grimmsnarl's malevolent aura expanded as annoyance and rage grew. In response to this new information, Grimmsnarl responded by doing the only thing he could think of doing to show his discontent.

"GRIMMSNARL!!!!!!" Grimmsnarl yelled in rage.

His malevolent black and red aura flared and surged as he expressed his discontent at the trainer and Pokemon's little resistance. The Morgrem that were fighting with the trainer's Pokemon, fell to the ground grabbing their heads in pain as the same malevolent aura Grimmsnarl was displaying flared in them. They moaned and groaned in pain, before they seemingly recovered. The Morgrem, who already had little free will of their own, had even less as they succumbed to Grimmsnarl's madness. Now the evil fey Pokemon were now more feral than ever.

Grimmsnarl was not about to stand by idly and have his minions halt this resistance. Grimmsnarl held up his left arm, letting the hair armor unwind. He stretch out his arm in the direction of the group and three massive tendrils of black hair shot forth. One towards the girl and Bisharp, one towards the men near the fence and Toxtricity, and the other toward the bigger collective group. He cared little if the Morgrem minions were caught in the crossfire, they were expendable. He'd quash this little resistance that was forming. Nothing would get in the way of his desire to see everything destroyed!

Oberon

"Hey Kiddo... look at me. You're going to be okay, you've got all of us with yo." Grey said calmly, resting their hand upon the younger smartly dressed kid, reassuringly. "Breathe. Now, inhale, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, now exhale, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10. Rinse and repeat okay."

Oberon took the advice of the man in front of him, telling him to breath. As instructed he inhaled, and as the man counted Oberon mentally counted along with him. When reaching 10, the pink haired boy finally exhaled. He was instructed to repeat, so Oberon did just that. Inhale. Count to ten. Exhale. Inhale. Count to ten. Exhale. He focused his face on the man before him, ignoring everything else that was going on. He knew the other trainers probably needed help, but there was no way he could even do anything if he couldn't collect himself first. Inhale. Count to ten. Exhale. Inhale. Count to ten. Exhale...

He was slowly calming down, until he hit a snag. That snag being Grimmsnarl's ominous yell. He could feel himself start to hyperventilate again, but he continue to look at the man that had instructed him to breath. Inhale. Count to ten. Exhale. Inhale. Count to ten. Exhale. Inhale. Count to ten. Exhale. He relinquished thoughts of death and dying, thoughts of being a burden, thoughts of his father, thoughts of Titania. He focused purely on breathing, looking straight ahead at the man in front of him.

Oberon finally seemed to calm down enough that he could pay attention to his surroundings. A lot of trainers had gathered in the general area, seemingly to protect him. He felt bad being such a burden. This situation was already pretty terrible and by having a panic attack in the middle of this all, he had made the situation worse. He took another deep breath. He couldn't get caught up in those thoughts right now, him being down on himself like that could send him into another panic attack and continue to be a burden. He closed his eyes and took another deep breath. He needed to focus!

He opened eyes with the intent to start helping the collective group's situation...However, he had unfortunately opened his eyes just in time to see Grimmsnarl's oncoming tendril. Was that going to be it? Would this attack kill them? Oberon could feel himself start to hyperventilate again. Oberon wanted to say something or warn the group...however all he could manage to do was feebly point in the direction of the attack as he clutched his chest and continued to hyperventilate.

Siegfried was ready to strike, his Defiant ability filling his heart with righteous fury. Not even Grimmsnarl's deafening roar gave Siegfried pause, as it dashed towards the Morgrem at full speed. It noticed the Morgrem clutch its head in pain, but he wasn't falling for it a second time! Ignoring the Morgrem's undoubtedly feigned migraine, he delivered a deadly uppercut of cold steel, sending the Pokémon flying into a nearby building.

Elend, however, was definitely looking at the Grimmsnarl now. Its deafening roar and the immerse power radiating from it... She was starting to have second thoughts about lingering around here any longer than strictly necessary... This Grimmsnarl didn't seem quite like other wild Pokémon, was she underestimating the power of a Berserk Pokémon? Its wicked gaze landed upon Elend for a moment, but it was long enough for it to consider Elend a threat, launching a tendril of hair in her general direction. The trainer's eyes widened. With the attack hurtling towards her, she found herself unable to react, simply standing there, making a feeble attempt to shield herself with her arms. She closed her eyes and braced for impact.

CLANG!

Elend dared to peek. Even in his enraged state, Siegfried had come to her aid! With his arms crossed in an X pattern, he had caught the Grimmsnarl's tendril in between his blades. Normally, the steel-plated knight would've shrugged off such an attack, but he was struggling to keep them in place. Elend could see the Bisharp being pushed back by the force of the attack, leaving a trail in the sand.

"S-siegfried!", Elend cried out, an uncharacteristic panic in her voice. The Pokémon's heroic heart burned brighter, he had to fend off this attack! In the blink of an eye, he withdrew one of his blade arms and delivered a decisive slash, cutting off the hair tendril and severing it. That should do it, the duo was safe for now...

"Greeemm!!" As Siegfried was distracted, the badly injured Morgrem had recovered and hit the distracted Bisharp with a Sucker Punch attack, knocking him off balance.

That was bad, and Elend knew it. With the Morgrem interfering, Siegfried wouldn't be able to fend off another one of Grimmsnarl's attacks, and that big Pokémon was ruthless enough to target frail old her instead of the armour plated Pokémon. That wasn't playing by the rules at all! She had to do something to tip the scales back in their favour! And as a trainer, there was really only one thing she could do...

Not even taking the time to come up with a taunt or a quip, Elend grabbed an Ultra Ball from her belt and threw it at the Morgrem. She got them because they matched her colour scheme, but luckily, they were pretty effective as Poké Balls as well. After bouncing off of its head, the Morgrem dissolved into energy and was forced into the ball. One shake... Two shakes... Three shakes...!! Click. The girl sighed with relief. This could've backfired so easily.

She ran up and snatched the capsule from the ground. Normally she'd be more theatrical about this, but her recent clash with the enraged fairy Pokémon had given her a bit of a priority shift. It bothered her to just put the ball on her belt silently without fanfare, but she really wanted to get away from this Grimmsnarl.

"Loyal Siegfried! Your bravery is commendable as always! However, today is not the day we win this fight! We have to regain our strength and fight another day!" She looked to the other group of trainers. Sticking together would probably be their best shot at escape.

The voice seemed to come from an older woman. She was surrounded by other Trainers, had she taken a leadership role? She seemed experienced, and right now, Victoria would trust in whatever seemed to give them a chance. The fight was too dangerous not to.

"Got it! Let's join up, Orb!" Victoria exclaimed. Orb was busy throwing icicles at whatever got close, as fast as he could. Thankfully, he was faster than the Morgrem, but it was a losing battle at this rate. As such, he took the chance to jump away from the Morgrem, still stunned from the repeated Icicle Crashes.

However, as both trainer and Pokemon ran towards the Poliwhirl's Trainer and her allies, the Gigantamax Grimmsnarl that led them suddenly roared. Victoria was frozen where she was for a moment as she realized that, for some reason, that was both hurting and powering up the Morgrem, which now had a more intense dark aura. Both of them jumped out of the pain near-immediately, taking the highest positions they could, with a speed that seemed far too great for a slow Pokemon like Morgrem. Were they going for a suicidal clash by jumping from that far up? Had they lost any sense of self-preservation in favour of violence? Had they not gone clearly insane, Victoria could even respect that drive for victory to an extent, though a mistimed Self-Destruct wasn't going to win anything. The Pokemon League rules clearly stated that if your last Pokemon used Self-Destruct or Explosion and that KOed both teams' last mons...

...This wasn't the time to think about that! Especially considering that both Morgrem got beaten before they could even do that, by their boss' tendril attack.

"He wiped out his own allies?!" Victoria exclaimed. It wasn't the time to be shocked either, but this was unexpected to say the least. Nonetheless, the main issue now was that said tendril was about to hit the entire group. "Orb, stop it!"

It was too much to ask for. Victoria was aware of it. It was such a big attack, and it was clearly strong too. Darmanitan had nearly no defense. A direct blow wouldn't just trigger Zen Mode, it'd KO Orb for sure. But running away from it might put everyone else at risk. Right now, this was a Raid Battle...of sorts. Losing your allies in Raid Battles was equal to losing the battle itself, and right now, they wouldn't just get kicked out of a Den for that!

As such, as Victoria kept running closer to the Trainers that had formed a team, Orb tried to keep getting close as well as he shot one Icicle Crash after another. They didn't seem to do much, but at least, maybe, the flinch chance would trigger and buy them even the slightest of time. And if everyone joined up, then it was possible...such was the essence of team battles!

"Whatever your plan is, I'm game! But we don't have time!" Victoria exclaimed, panting, as she managed to get close enough to who she identified as the Poliwhirl's Trainer. Several others were there, but they all had to be on the same page...right?

Albert

Albert quickly started to make his way over to the older man who was still laying on the ground where the Morgrem had kicked him in the ribs. He needed to be gotten up if they planned on getting out of here before things got any more crazy. Also, hopefully he could get there before the Morgrem that Tor had sent crashing through the fence recovered enough to start harassing him again.

Albert hadn't moved fast enough though, and missed a second Morgrem that had been approaching the man. It was soon joined by the Morgrem that had been sent through the fence, getting up much faster than Albert would have expected. Now, with two Morgrem behind them, retreat was looking like less and less of an option.

"Ey you, you long-haired, hook-nosed, knob-headed pink plonker!" Came a shout from the opposite side of the man, before Albert could move to do anything more. This was followed by a tall, younger looking man who kicked BOTH of the Morgrem and sent them flying. That was... rather impressive all things considered.

"I uh, usually don't treat Pokémon like that, swear." He said, leaning down to help the man up.

“Good... uh... Good kicks,” Albert said, as he made his way over to the two of them.

That took care of that then. With both of the Morgrem well and taken care of, their escape route was secure. Now, Albert just needed to get everyone's attention, again, and they could make their way toward the beach...

"GRIMMSNARL!!!!!!" Came a blood curdling roar from the Berserk Pokemon

The roar made all the hair on Albert's body stand on end. The Grimmsnarl sounded very, very angry, and it was more than likely to lash out because of that anger. Strangely, it also sounded like there might be some pain mixed in with that scream, thought that could have just been the agonized moaning coming from the Morgrem all around them. Whatever was going on with this Grimmsnarl was hurting the other Pokemon. That was something that Albert would need to make note of: what kind of connection could cause that?

Tor

Albert had started to think again, and at the worst possible time. The massive Grimmsnarl's attention was now focused in their direction, and in her opinion they really, really needed to get going before... Massive tendrils shot off from the Pokemon, and blasted in three directions. One of them heading straight for Albert.

Tor jumped, quickly putting herself in the way of the on-coming attack. The tendril slammed into her, and knocked her back into Albert, who was then knocked into the taller young man. This threw them both off their feet, and stopped the Tendril from slamming into them at full force. She also did her best to roll off of them as they fell.

After hitting the ground, and rolling to a stop, she hopped back up and quickly ran over to Albert. He was breathing quickly, obviously the air had been knocked out of his lungs. Tor pushed her head into his hand, and did her best to comfort him. His breathing quickly steadied.
“I'm OK,” he said, between breathes, “I'm OK, Tor.”

Tor nodded, and helped her trainer get back to his feet as best she could. Then she turned, and hissed angrily in the direction of the Grimmsnarl. It had targeted Albert, not her. It had attacked her trainer, her boy, and she would not let that stand in the slightest.

“I guess we're not running anymore, huh?” Albert asked her, his breathing now steady, he turned back to the other trainer and held out his hand to help them up, “Sorry about that, Tor gets a little... uh... zealous sometimes. Are you alright?”

Davina

Slowly but surely, the gang of trainers gathered together to pile the Morgrem in front of Saboteur. The fey Pokemon looked extra damaged, as they winced in pain. As Sab quickly darted at the one that attached him, the tadpole lunged forward, hitting it with a solid body slam. As Sab got up, he noticed the weird dislocated head of the weird ghost type Pokemon give it a shifty wink, which briefly shocked the poliwhirl.

Darmanitan Girl had ran up next to Davina, reinforcing the point that they had to hurry. "Right, let's get out of here-" Davina was about to finish her thought, as she noticed the Grimsnarl's tentacle rush toward the group. The ice type Darmanitan kept attacking it, but it kept speeding toward the group. Davina, instinctively, rushed her body right in front of Oberon's. No matter what distance there was between the Grimsnarl and him, they had to get through her first.

"SAB, intersect that tentacle!" Davina commanded, pointing toward the massive black tentacle speeding toward them. Though, she didn't need to yell, as the Sync Aura bonded Saboteur to her. The poliwhirl darted toward the rushing tentacle, his little legs glowing red and propelling the Poliwhirl faster than ever before. Sab then went into Waterfall stance, flopping down on its belly as it surfed toward Grimsnarl's tentacle. It passed by Orb as it swung underneath the looming attack, before jumping upward and hitting the tentacle from under it. Sab's fist made contact with the glowing red Grimsnarl as the water it built up on its belly rushed upward, pushing the tentacle upward. While the attack propelled Morgrem upward, the water wasn't strong enough to push the tentacle off of it's predicted trajectory.

"I just need time to unleash my sync move, darn it!" Davina avoided a cuss as the aura around her started slowly to shrink. "Sab can trap all these guys and we can flee. Just keep any attacks from that thing at bay, at the very least!"

Earl and Grey

The pink hair kiddo seemed to start calming down. Grey smiled warmly, okay that was a good thing. They really would need everyone in this to stay safe and potentially help the town.

However, just as the boy's breathing was slower as he had overcome his panic attack, his eyes had widened and he had pointed behind him unable to speak.

"EARL!" Grey called.

The teapot ghost let out a cry "TEEEAAAAA!!" the prankster ghost was scared, Grey knew the noise too well. However, still their companion threw out another shadow ball to back up Davina and her pokemon "Sab" against the tendril

The ghost however was nervously chattering.

"You're okay, you have people around you, and we won't let you get hurt okay!" Grey said soothingly, gripping on to Oberon's shoulder, getting read to grab the kid and run should they need it. The woman had put herself in front of the two to protect the pink haired kid. "I have a potential backup plan should we be forced to flee, but I need you on side." they managed another smile at the boy. Hopefully he would find his centre again and be able to assist in this battle. If not they would just have to keep him safe until he was able to calm down. There was no shame in retreating back to safety to regroup.

This was a highly stressful situation and if Grey hadn't had to essentially pack up their life themselves, they also would have been highly unprepared for dealing with this kind of situation. They were afraid, of course they were, but showing fear wasn't going to help Oberon right now. They needed to stay calm for both the boy and for their ghost pokemon who did not like the match up. It was understandable. Earl didn't have the advantage here and with a serious threat before them, they were rightfully scared about the end result.

"Earl, I know you're scared, but we need to help Sab." Grey said to their pokemon. "I know we're at the disadvantage, and I hate to put you through this, but there's no one I trust more than you."

The ghost was shuddering, even the impressive sight of a strange ghost Guy with some flashy moves wasn't enough to put Earl at ease. No they were scared, but just like the night when those people broke in and were after Grey's information...Grey needed them again. They nodded. They would do their best for their trainer and friend.

"We'll have some tea later okay? I promise." Grey said softly to their pokemon. The words seemed to clam them down, teatime was their time together and it was fun. Grey must have been confident that these other humans and their pokemon were more than capable. Teatime was safe time.

Earl looked to the other pokemon that were joining the fight. Would whatever the woman do work?
Earl wasn't sure, but preparing another shadowball to launch in defence seemed like the best idea, and it was what Grey would expect unless they were injured, in which case a Giga drain would be ordered of them.

"I uh, usually don't treat Pokémon like that, swear."

Not much personal pride to speak of when you just got curb-stomped by a three-foot tall gremlin. Nathan gratefully accepted the stranger's hand and let the young man pull him to his feet. Still bent over, midsection sore from the pummeling the Morgrem had delivered, Nathan grimaced.

"Th-Thanks, ugh."

The trainer who'd come to his rescue boasted punk flair only the groovier corners of Virbank or Spikemuth could claim. Groovy...not exactly what the kids would be saying. Dude looked positively lit, fam. Not really the kind of style found back home in Fallarbor. Considering his own penchant for the bold, Nathan felt a spark of comradery with someone who dared to walk a bit more on the edge. Though, as he gave his savior another once-over, the razzle-dazzle undercut gave way to a face erring on the younger side.

"I mean, you should've seen me before that Morgrem sucker-kicked me! I was like..." He demoed a quick one-two and finished with an off-kilter uppercut. "Uh, y'know? Yeah."

A roar from the Grimmsnarl, then a wild lash of hair, and then--another kid? No sooner did Nathan exchange a look with Liam than a three-point collision between trainers and pokemon sent all but Nathan and the Toxtricity sprawling.

“I guess we're not running anymore, huh? [...] Are you alright?”

"Yeah, I'm fine--" Nathan mumbled, before he realized the nerdy newcomer had been addressing the trainer he bodied. "Fin...ally going to take a swing at something, too."

Nathan once again unclipped Dracovish's pokeball from his belt and summoned forth the hybrid fossil. Already Dracovish panted with exertion, fins drooping, but it nonetheless tensed its legs and waited for a command. Vish didn't have the stamina to deal with a potentially long and drawn-out battle. Backed up by the other two pokemon--a healthy and capable-looking Toxtricity and Grovyle--the small group stood a good chance of escaping. Dracovish snarled at another red-eyed Morgrem that dared approach.

"Mini-max Grimmsnarl here seems to want to wreck the town and not much else. Not sure if y'all got travel buddies you need to pull from the wreckage, but I think we should have our pokemon cover us and get the hell out of dodge." Nathan gestured over his shoulder. "Uh, dodge in this case being Jadeton. They're probably used to large-scale property damage anyway, since Berserk pokemon are kind of like, the thing here. In fact, it's probably culturally insensitive of us to intervene."

Roxanne

While Liam was busy with a Morgrem bunch himself, Roxanne did as she was told and baited the three Morgrem to the spot where the red-aura lady asked trainers to round them up. That did, however, mostly entail the Toxtricity running around on her stubby, yet surprisingly fast legs until the trio was in position.

Just as she prepared to blast a Boomburst right at the gremlins, a blood-curling roar tore through the air. The Grimmsnarl seemed to writhe in both rage and agony. While it was a very loud scream, it wasn't eardrum shattering, yet the Morgrem seemed to be a pain because of it.

Intimidated by the Berserk Pokémon's unnatural rage, Roxanne lost her earlier gained bravery at once and rushed back to her trainer.


Liam

The loudly dressed lad didn't quite recover from his assault yet, which meant that it was a bit of struggle to get the poor sod back on his feet, probably unable to tense his beaten up body. His awkward stance and pained expression confirmed Liam's suspicion.

"Th-Thanks, ugh."

"Welcome."

"Good... uh... Good kicks," complimented a short, male figure, approaching the two. The older lad seemed still too occupied with trying to recover to pay attention to the somewhat nerdy looking guy.

"Heh, thanks. Played footie back in Galar most of my life so I had plenty of practice."

As the man slowly managed to stand upright, he seemed to look Liam up and down. The trainer felt almost ogled at, but he didn't mind. He was actually very much used to people giving him weird looks or even stares, for obvious reasons. And in this case, it wasn't even followed by the usual judgmental look!

"I mean, you should've seen me before that Morgrem sucker-kicked me! I was like..." He fumbled around, mimicking punches like someone who was never involved in a real fist fight would, "Uh, y'know? Yeah."

Liam blinked a few times, smiling a just a bit (any more might've been impolite). "Yeah."

The exchange was rudely interrupted by the Grimmsnarl's furious, ear-piercing roar. Okay, this Grimmsnarl was starting to get mighty terrifying despite his stunted size. The dark aura pulsated, and his Morgrem minions seemed even more vicious than before. This sure has gotten quite pear shaped.

"Roxanne!" Liam made eye-contact with his terrified Pokémon, who came running back towards him. He couldn't even blame her to act like this in a situation like that. Distracted by the Toxtricity, Liam failed entirely to notice the Grimmsnarl attacking the younger man next to him with one of his hair tentacles.

"What's wro- URGH!" The unkempt looking bloke slammed right into Liam and knocked them both over. "Bloody h-hell," Liam gasped for air. He wasn't even sure what happened until he could make out a blurry, black appendage retreating right next to him. Whoa, shit! Did the other lad just save him?

His vision cleared up. A Grovyle ran to the other trainer, trying to comfort him. Seems like he wasn't in a better condition than Liam was, so maybe it was the Pokémon who saved them? Either way, better than being impaled by a hairy spear.

"Tooox?" A worried, upside-down lizard face appeared above him. "I'm all right, I'm all right... Did you distract the gremlin wankers?" The purple Pokémon nodded. "Hey, nice job, Rox. I'm glad you're safe.... uh, for now."

"I guess we're not running anymore, huh?" Liam sat up a little sighed. "Guess we might be rather snookered. Gremlin king over there certainly seems off his bloody trolley."

The nerdy bloke offered him a hand. Kind of a déjà-vu. "Sorry about that, Tor gets a little... uh... zealous sometimes. Are you alright?" So it was indeed the Grovyle. What a brave little friend. Liam accepted the stranger's hand gladly. "Ta! It's okay, thanks for saving my arse."

"...ally going to take a swing at something, too." "Huh?" Liam turned around to the older bloke, who was tossing a Pokéball into the air, which released the abomination Pokémon inside of it. Liam recoiled a bit. A bloody Dracovish. Strange, the lad did not seem like he was native to Galar. Seems like he got around.

He was familiar with that.... creature, of course. Liam knew personally that these things could be terrifying - not only because they were a crime against nature but also they could seriously mess things up with their jaws. Maybe they stood a chance...

Shouldn't we at least, like, try to stop him?" Liam made eye contact with the loudly wheezing Dracovish "...I-ideally before Fish 'n' Chips here is out of breath?"

Grimmsnarl

The filthy humans had managed to deflect his barrage of tendrils which only served to make the berserk Grimmsnarl even angrier. He would not be defied like this. His rampage would not be stopped like this. How dare they not fall before him. Grimmsnarl became so enraged he began to stomp the ground beneath him like an angry child throwing a tantrum. This in turn, caused the ground beneath Jadeton to shake as if there were some sort of earthquake! As Grimmsnarl furious stomped the ground in protest, the crazed Pokemon came up with a plot to nullify the resistance forming before him. As he continued to stomp on the ground, make the earth shake and crack beneath Jadeton, he allowed tendrils of hair to snake their way into the ground. He would catch this group off guard this time!

The bulk up Pokemon's tantrum soon came to an end, and the earth beneath the trainers and Jadeton ceased to quake. However, Grimmsnarl left little time for the resistance to recover. Grimmsnarl arm hair unraveled and sent forth another three tendrils to attack the resistance.

"GRIMMSNARL!!!!!" Grimmsnarl violently yelled.

The black and red aura surrounding the Morgrem flared up. For a brief moment, the Morgrem writhed in pain briefly before performing their next act. His possessed minions, with little regard for their own well being, rushed in to attack the group from the front. Now the group would not only have to deal with the three tendrils shooting forth towards them, but the suicidal Morgrems.

But that wasn't all! Both the tendril and the Morgrems bum rushed the group from the front, the three tendrils of hair that had snaked it's way through the fractured earth below rose up from the ground from behind the group and sped towards the group. Grimmsnarl's plot was finally enacted. This pincer attack would end this miserable resistance and he could go back to destroy the town as he pleased.

Oberon & Titania

"You're okay, you have people around you, and we won't let you get hurt okay!" Grey said soothingly, gripping on to Oberon's shoulder

With the trainer's soothing kind words, Oberon relaxed a little bit. For a moment he was able to briefly look up and around him. The man didn't seem to be lying. As shortly after he had said this, the Poliwhirl lady stood directly in front of the two, as if shielding them. Oberon noticed that the other trainers around him slowly began to gather together, all seemingly realizing that they weren't getting out of this situation without working with the collective group. For a brief moment, Oberon felt relief knowing that everyone here was working towards the same goal. However, negative thoughts started to creep their way in. Oberon started having thoughts about how much of a burden he was being in this situation.

However, before he could ruminate in those thoughts further, Grimmsnarl began throwing a tantrum. Not just any tantrum, a Stomping Tantrum. With his increased size and power, his Tantrum began to shake all of Jadeton. The earth beneath them both rumbled and cracked. Oberon had never been in the presence of an earthquake before... it was terrifying having the earth beneath his feet break. Oberon immediately began to cower, holding on to the ground below as if that would save him from the attack. Right when Oberon thought that this attack would be the attack that ended the group... Grimmsnarl stopped his earth shaking tantrum.

There was no time for any relief however, as Grimmsnarl sent forth another set of tendrils towards the group. His Morgrem minion also decided to attack at the same time. They all seemed to be convening towards Poliwhirl when three new tendrils erupted from behind the group to strike. It was a pincer attack. One that surely the group would not be able to survive. Oberon was once again about to cower in fear but...

Polteageist's trainer words played back in his head. You're okay, you have people around you, and we won't let you get hurt okay! These people were all so nice, protecting a burdensome trainer like himself. Oberon had to contribute something to all this. He couldn't just let everyone keep fighting to protect him. Wasn't the point of this journey to become a strong trainer and adventure like his mother? He couldn't do that if he kept cowering in fear!

Oberon was super scared what was going to happen next. He was super scared that they would not make it through this. He was super scared that this would be the end of their journey. But with everyone right now trying their hardest to fight their way out of this situation, Oberon couldn't keep cowering. He had to do something. He had to call Titania!

Oberon took the Love Ball from his belt and quickly pressed the button to release Titania. As Titania materialized in front of him, Oberon quickly rushed to his Alolan Ninetales and hugged her.

"Titania, please" Oberon seemed to beg rather than command, "Protect us all with your aurora veil!" Oberon cried out.

"Nine..." Titiania seemed to purr as she used her tails to wrap around her trainer as a way to hug him back. Titania's eyes started to glow with all the colors of an aurora.

Hail started to fall across the field and with it, a warm rainbow aura began to wrap around each member of the group, trainer and Pokemon alike. This was the best they could contribute for now, he would leave further mitigation up to the other members of their little group.

The older man gestured toward the escape route that Tor had made in the fence, after sending out... a Dracovish of all things.

Albert had only heard about those in passing. Rowan in particular had had some... choice words. Amid the string of profanities Albert had managed to figure out that apparently some... science inclined individual from Galar... had attempted to mimic the fossil cloning techniques originally pioneered on Cinnabar Island. The results had been... less than spectacular. What had come out were.. certainly something. Arguments were still going as to if these creations could even really be considered Pokemon. Seeing one is person was... somehow both over, and under, whelming. Honestly, the poor thing looked like it was ready to topple over at any moment.

"Uh, dodge in this case being Jadeton.” the older man continued, keeping Albert from fulling losing himself in the strangeness of his Pokemon, “They're probably used to large-scale property damage anyway, since Berserk pokemon are kind of like, the thing here. In fact, it's probably culturally insensitive of us to intervene."

Both of them had their points... mostly at least. Jadeton was probably far more prepared for the aftermath of something like this than anyone here realized. This could not have been the first time that they'd had to deal with something like this. However, as set on retreat as Albert had been initially he had to agree with the tall boy. There wasn't any guarantee that this Grimmsnarl could, or would, be stopped here. Who knows what havoc it could wreak if it decided that Jadeton wasn't the only place to wanted to stomp on today? Sure, it would get stopped eventually, but how much damage would it do before then? All together, they might be able to slow it down until someone who could actually stop it showed up. Before Albert could voice his opinion on the situation, the ground began to shake.

The Grimmsnarl had began to stomp violently against the ground. It's face was twisted into something between a grimace and a pout that one might see an angry child make. It was obviously unhappy with how the current situation had progressed. The Morgrem seemed to have proved less than adequate as a strike force against... a somewhat coordinated resistance. So now, it seemed to have decided to just get angry. This anger, however, was certainly something to behold. It not only shook the ground, but began to crack it apart in places.

This wasn't even an attack, and it was already causing a similar effect to the move Earthquake. The sheer power of a Berserk Pokemon was incredible. No wonder the Professor had wanted him to look into the phenomenon. If they could do this, and they weren't even attacking, who knew what they could do if they ever really let loose? What would a person be able to do if they managed to command them? It was a truly terrifying notion.

“If we're not gonna bail, and at this point I don't think everyone here would be able to, considering how scattered we are, and I really don't think we should just leave people behind,” Albert started to say, looking between the two trainers, “We need to figure out what we've got going for us.”

Albert looked over to the older man first. Honestly, he didn't have any idea where to start there, and he said as much aloud.

“All I even have a clue about is that I think your buddy had Dragon in them?,” Albert said quickly, “Unless you're really, really sure about their defenses you should probably keep them from getting to close. If you've got any tricks up your collective... uh... sleeves let me know though.”

Next, the taller trainer, and he was certainly tall. He had to be almost a whole foot taller than Albert was, not that that was necessarily hard. Hell, his Toxtricity was more or less as tall as Albert was, and being a Toxtricity put it at an advantage over their big, hairy friend. Poison attacks would be quite effective against a Grimmsnarl, even one as ridiculously overpowered as this one appeared to be.

“How close do you need to get to make some hits?” Albert asked, running through the potential Poison moves that Toxtricity could learn, boy would it be nice if Gunk Shot was one of them, “I can probably clear a decent enough path for you... Wait, no, I bet WE can clear a decent enough path. Even if Grimmsnarl is a big nasty, I bet those Moregrem aren't much a threat to Dracovish, right?”

Earl and Grey

Earl was blasting the Morgrem back with not incredibly effective Shadow Balls, but something to support Sabs, the Poliwhirl. They were chattering trying to stay calm in this situation the promise of "Tea Time" was important.

Yet it was still hard for them to feel entirely calm with the mayhem going on, and now the temper tantrum the Grimmsnarl was throwing. Grey was here though and they were always a calming presence on the little teapot.

However, even Grey was put on edge, as the ground shook, they were doing what they could to stay upright and not want to cower alongside Oberon. Especially as the onslaught of Morgrems came at the group.
Just as their concern grey, Oberon was a little champ and sent out his Ninetails, called Titania. Her Aurora Veil would come in very useful, especially for Earl.

"Good work kiddo!" Grey said with a laugh and a clap on the back. "We can work with this."
Earl's chattering had calmed a little after Aurora Veil had been cast.
"You feeling a bit better too Earl? I need to you try and stop these tendrils buddy!" Grey asked. The Polteageist gave an affirmative "Tea!" in response. "Shadow Ball them, we'll take damage, but get ready to Giga Drain!"

Earl shot the Shadow Ball at the Tendrils that were speeding towards them. It was scary, but Grey and the other two trainers needed protecting.

"See, you're helping me keep Earl calm too, since they're a little prankster, but they get easily scared. Now do you think Titania would be up for getting more involved in the fight? Ice also isn't weak to Morgrem and Grimmsnarl's typing and Titania looks pretty strong." Grey hadn't exactly seen a ninetales that looked like an ice type, but ice was better than nothing right? Of course if Grey had known she was also part fairy they would have also mentioned that advantage as well as weakness.

Elend, who was still rather separate from the group, noticed the Grimmsnarl's large scale attack on the trainer group.

"Accursed would-be Demon Lord! He's going all-out! Wait..."

The horde of Morgrem and the tendrils coming in from the front were drawing all the attention towards them, for obvious reasons... But the trainer's yellow eyes were drawn to a disturbance behind them. Ah...!! The tendrils had also dug into the ground and approached the group from behind. A pincer attack! Nobody had noticed, someone could get seriously hurt!

"Ahh!! Look!" Elend gasped and pointed at the sneaky tendrils. She remembered what had happened when Grimmsnarl had attacked her earlier... Siegfried had saved her, and gotten caught in the tendrils himself... but he broke through them with his sword arms. Ah, of course...! Grimmsnarl must be a fairy type just like Morgrem. The cold steel of Bisharp's blades would be super effective on it, so it must also be super effective at severing the tendrils! Yes, that was it! "Siegfried, loyal retainer! Show the usurper king that our darkness burns ever brighter! Protect the mortals with the sharpness of Balmung!!"

Siegfried hadn't heard her. He'd already ran off as soon as she pointed her finger.

"Oh... Q-quick thinking, Sieg," Elend muttered, deflated. She jogged off in the same direction.

The Bisharp dashed forwards with blades outstretched. He had no time to waste, the tendrils were rapidly approaching the trainer. Crouching down, the steel warrior performed a mighty jump, landing on top of a building. His heavy frame damaged the roof, but it wasn't even in the same ballpark as the kind of destruction Grimmsnarl was causing. He had a vantage point over the trainers and their attacker now, all he had to do was align his attack perfectly. This would require expert timing! With another leap, the Bisharp performed a front flip, to line up the perfect angle. Extending his sword arms, he cleaved through the tendrils with a cross-shaped Metal Claw in a decisive strike. He hit the ground with calculated grace, though the metallic sound of the impact was still easily loud enough to alert any of the trainers. Keeping his momentum, the knightly Pokémon performed a tactical roll and propped himself up on one knee. Fragments of fairy hair fluttered around him like cherry blossom petals on the wind.

"Siegfried! That looked fucking awesome!"

The situation had not improved. As a matter of fact, Grimmsnarl seemed to go even more insane, throwing a tantrum and destroying the very ground it stood on, as well as releasing more berserking Morgrem after them, as well as hair tendrils. People amongst the group seemed to believe escape was a bad idea now. Victoria couldn't agree, they were told not to fight Berserk Pokemon and the dangers of them had proven to be undeniably true. And yet, was escape even possible at this point? Raid Battles normally didn't allow it, and it sure didn't seem much better here. Even if they ignored all the destruction, they still would be turning their back on a Pokemon that had clearly decided none of them would be leaving alive.

And yet, rather than panicking, everyone seemed to be doing their best to fight. Hail and Aurora Veil were set by a pink-haired man that seemed to be around Victoria's age, younger than most people around, who had an Alolan Ninetales with him. Close to him, an extremely unremarkable man and his Polteageist were fighting the tendrils as best as they could. The sound of metal alerted Victoria of a Bisharp that had magnificently hit the tendrils, not only making use of a type advantage but also of a clear knowledge of how to battle. Its trainer must be one worthy of respect as a rival and, right now, ally! And on Victoria's side was the Poliwhirl's trainer who had put herself as a sort of leader to everyone, who wanted to set up her Sync Move but couldn't. That was such a risky move! None of them had ever used Sync Aura or Sync Moves, and yet, she planned to test them in live, and dangerous, combat? It wasn't the time to complain, but it wasn't something Victoria could agree with in a better situation. But this wasn't that situation.

"I'll trust you on that then, miss!" Victoria exclaimed, flicking her hairpin. A blue aura, taking the form of a soft flame, surrounded her at this time, alongside Orb and the other Pokemon around her. So this was a Sync Aura...Victoria had given hers the name of "Victory Star" as a tribute to the Pokemon she dedicated her life to pursuing, but she had no idea what ability this had. It would require proper testing, but right now, the only thing she could hope is that it had no negative effects. Even if the positive effects were minor, they needed all the help they could get. "Icicle Crash, Orb! Protect Poliwhirl!"

With the order given, Orb kept throwing icicles at the Morgrem that got close to the Poliwhirl. Would it be needed, he'd take a blow for it as well, although Victoria knew it wasn't the best idea. Even with Aurora Veil, Darmanitan wasn't exactly a tank, and while taking damage would also awaken Orb's true power, they needed to be careful with that. But it was an option now that Aurora Veil was up. Talking about that, the Alolan Ninetales may be a very useful ally right now.

"Ninetales' trainer! Can you use any Fairy type moves? They'll be super effective here!" Victoria shouted. Her eyes were focused on Orb, she didn't look at Oberon at all, but she hoped he'd hear her anyways. They couldn't just rely on flinching and buying time, they needed to strongly take the enemy down, and the Pokemon they had with effective types (Bisharp and Ninetales) would no doubt be needed for it.

Davina gritted her teeth as Saboteur's attack began to fizzle out. She could see the Morgrem starting to make a dart toward her plucky poliwhirl partner. Grimsnarl's tentacle began to come down hard on Sab, as the water currently built up on his tummy slowly trickled to the ground. To make matters worse, it started to sno-

Davina looked to her side, the young panic-stricken trainer had called his own Pokemon out, a lovely Ice type Ninetales usually found in the Alolan Region. Oberon commanded the Nine Tailed Fox to use Aurora Veil, which luckily assisted all the Pokemon currently fighting against the berserk Grimsnarl, including Sab. The Poliwhirl was knocked downwards, but the veil took the brunt of the attack, allowing Sab to land nicely on its feet, with one water mitten planted on the ground. The Ice type Darmanitan had managed to keep a number of the Morgrem away from Sab. While a few rushed the tadpole, a number of them were knocked over from the icicle attack. The sync aura between Davina and Sab had started to get thick, as both trainer and pokemon could see the advantage they had together.

"Alright Sab, it's time to do a little Paradigm Shift of our own." Davina clenched her teeth in excitement, as she glared across the battlefield. The aura pedals began to violently blow behind her, some hitting Oberon, Grey, and Titania. Touching her locket, the pedals around Davina dynamically flew into her palm and then into her sync device. The bright red aura around her plucky middle stage polywog began to manifest itself around its body, and the "whirl" on its tummy began to glow a bright red. Sab let out a loud bellowing cry, could almost be considered a "croak"

"Pooooooooooooliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii"

"Let's WASH 'EM OUT, SAB!" Davina commanded, her two fingers pointing toward the berserk Morgrem.

The little poliwhirl's stomach began to spin, starting slowly but picking up at a rapid pace. Through the power of Sync Leak, Poliwhirl's chest began to spin like a fan. Out of its belly came a fast jet of water, hitting one of the Morgrem's that was flinching from Darmanitan's attack. The water attack quickly went up into the air before landing on the ground, The water pressure then pushed the water high up into the sky, like a fountain, the Morgrem that it hit was sent flying upwards. The water then began to create a small but powerful whirlpool that ended up sucking in the other Morgrem. The whirlpool was held together by thick walls, trapping whoever came inside. Saboteur kept spewing water for about 50 seconds as the Washed Up Whirlpool finished forming. As the sync aura around him began to fade, Sab took a deep breath, flicking the water off of his mitten like hands.

One berserk Morgrem managed to avoid the entire show, and proceeded to scratch at Sab. When the attack hit Sab's Aurora Veil, however, Sab simply pushed the fey Pokemon into the whirlpool.

"Alright! It worked!" Davina cheered. "We can get out of her-" As she turned around to face her fellow trainers, three of Grimsnarl's tendrils managed to sneak behind the group. Davina was far enough away from Sab that the Poliwhirl couldn't help them...
